FIBERTIME™ “BRING FIBERTIME™ TO MY COMMUNITY” PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs“) carefully. Participation in this “Bring fibertime™ to my community” Campaign promotional competition (“Competition“) will constitute your agreement to comply with these T&Cs. If you do not agree with these T&Cs, please do not participate.
1. Promoter
This Competition is promoted by fibertime™ ️ a division of fibertime™ Group Proprietary Limited (registration number 2020/189111/07) (“Promoter“).
2. Competition Period
The Competition includes distinct components with specific operational periods:
2.1. Voting Component Period:
The period for participating in the voting competition commences on 14 April 2025 at 00:01 SAST and closes on 14 July 2025 at 23:59 SAST (“Voting Competition Period”).
2.2. Sound of fibertime™ Challenge Period:
The period for submitting entries to the Sound of fibertime™ Challenge commences on 17 May 2025 at 00:01 SAST and closes on 17 June 2025 at 23:59 SAST (“Challenge Competition Period”).
(together the “Competition Periods”)
The Promoter reserves the right to extend, shorten, or modify either/both Competition Periods at its sole discretion, with any changes to be communicated via the Competition website or other official channels.
All entries must be received within the specified Competition Period for the relevant component to be valid, namely:
2.2.1. voting entries must be cast during the Voting Competition Period; and
2.2.2. challenge entries must be received during the Challenge Competition Period.
3. Who can enter:
This Competition is open to all natural persons who are permanent residents of the Republic of South Africa, who are 16 years or older at the date of commencement of the relevant Competition Period to participate in voting and challenges (“Participants”).
3.1. Participants who are minors (under the age of 18 years) need consent and assistance from a parent or legal guardian. This is required to participate in voting/challenges and also to claim and accept any prizes won while under 18 years. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of such consent before awarding a prize to a minor winner.
3.2. The following persons are excluded from participating:

directors, members, partners, employees, agents, or consultants of the Promoter, its affiliates, division, subsidiaries or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter;

suppliers of goods or services in connection with the Competition;

the immediate family members (spouses, life partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren) of the persons listed in clause 3.2.1 and 3.2.2
3.3. By entering the Competition, all Participants warrant that they meet the eligibility criteria (including age) and agree to be bound by these T&Cs. Where a Participant is a minor, entry is deemed to be confirmation that their parent or legal guardian has consented to their participation, and such parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by these T&Cs.
4. How to enter:
4.1. Voting and Community selection
4.1.1. Visit the official Competition microsite at www.fibertime.com/win (“Website“).
4.1.2. Register your details as prompted (including but not limited to name, contact number, email address). This information is required for winner identification, contact, and prize delivery.
4.1.3. Select your chosen Community for that day from the list provided on the Website. Participants may only select and vote for one Community per day.
4.1.4. If a Participant’s Community is not listed, they may suggest it via the “Can’t find your area? Let us know” option on the Website. The Promoter may, at its discretion, add suggested Communities to the list.
4.2. First voting opportunity
Upon selecting a Community, you will initiate a thirty (30) second timed voting session. During this session, you may vote for your chosen Community by clicking the designated vote button repeatedly. Each valid click registered within the 30-second period will count as one vote towards your selected Community.
4.3. Second voting opportunity
4.3.1. Once the initial 30-second voting session expires, you will be offered the opportunity to share the Competition using a unique referral link provided through the Website’s sharing options.
4.3.2. Should you choose to share the Competition using the official link provided, you will unlock a second, separate 30-second timed voting session. During this second session, you may again vote for your chosen Community by clicking the designated vote button repeatedly. Each valid click registered within this second 30-second period will also count as one vote. There is no limit to the number of friends a Participant can refer.
4.3.3. The completion of 1 (one) initial voting opportunity and, if unlocked via sharing, 1 (one) second voting opportunity constitutes the maximum voting participation allowed per Participant per day.
4.3.4. All votes successfully registered during both voting opportunities are final, immediately accumulated for the chosen Community, and cannot be retracted or changed.
5. Cost of Entering:
Participation in the Competition is free of charge and requires no purchase of any kind. Participants will require internet access or data to enter via the Website, WhatsApp channel, via Instagram or via TikTok, the cost of which is for the Participant’s own account.
6. Prizes:
6.1. Community Grand Prize (Voting):
The Community that receives the highest number of valid, verified votes by the end of the Voting Competition Period will win fibertime™ high-speed fibre internet installation within a defined area of that Community. The exact scope, timeline, and nature of the installation will be determined by the Promoter in consultation with relevant local authorities and community representatives. The Promoter reserves the right to assess the feasibility of installation in the winning Community. This prize benefits the Community collectively.
6.2. Individual Grand Prize (Voting):
1 (one) individual grand prize consisting of R100,000 (One hundred thousand Rand) cash will be awarded to the individual Participant who demonstrates the highest level of active participation during the Voting Competition Period.
6.3. Individual Subscription Prize (Voting)
One (1) Individual Subscription Prize consisting of one (1) year of free fibertime™ high-speed fibre internet will be awarded. The winner will be randomly selected from amongst all Participants who have cast a valid and verified vote by the end of the Voting Competition Period.
6.4. Scholarship Prize (Sound of fibertime™ Challenge)
1 (one) Scholarship Prize, specifically linked to the Sound of Fibertime™ Challenge component, is available to be won. The prize consists of a Bridges for Music scholarship valued at R80,000 (Eighty Thousand Rand). The winner will be chosen from the pool of eligible Participants who submitted a valid entry to the Sound of fibertime™ Challenge during the Challenge Competition Period through a judging process.
6.5. Weekly Prizes :
A total of 3000 (three thousand) weekly prizes, each to the value of R100 (one hundred Rand), will be awarded throughout the Competition Periods. These may include:
6.5.1. 500 Sportscene Vouchers;
6.5.2. 500 KFC Vouchers;
6.5.3. 500 Ster Kinekor Vouchers;
6.5.4. 500 Shoprite Vouchers;
6.5.5. 500 Waltons Vouchers; and
6.5.6. 500 Ackermans Vouchers.
6.6. Surprise Prizes:
Participants may also become eligible for surprise spot prizes by actively engaging with official Competition content posted by designated campaign ambassadors (influencers) on their social media platforms. The Promoter may award these spot prizes based on observed engagement, at its sole discretion.
6.6.1. Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable, and may not be exchanged for cash or any other alternative.
6.6.2. Vouchers awarded are subject to the terms and conditions of the issuing retailer or provider.
6.6.3. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equivalent value for any reason whatsoever.
6.6.4. Participants may win multiple weekly or surprise prizes, but individual Participants can only win 1 (one) of the individual prizes, either the Individual Grand Prize or the Individual Subscription Prize.
6.6.5. Even if a Participant’s vote for Community does not win the Grand Prize, the Participant remains eligible to win the individual grand prize, individual subscription prize and individual weekly or surprise prizes.
7. Winner Selection and Notification:
7.1. Grand Prize Winner (Community):
The Community with the most valid votes, as tracked and verified by the Promoter’s online system at the close of the Voting Competition Period, will be declared the winning Community. A live leaderboard displaying vote counts may be available on the Website during the Voting Competition Period.
7.2. Grand Prize Winner (Individual):
7.2.1. The winner of the Individual Grand Prize of R100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) cash will be the Participant who, in the Promoter’s sole judgment and discretion, is deemed to have demonstrated the highest level of consistent, active participation and engagement throughout the Voting Competition Period.
7.2.2. The Promoter’s assessment will consider overall activity related to the Voting Component, such as frequency of participation in voting opportunities and use of the sharing function via the Website. Should the Promoter, in its discretion, identify two or more Participants as having demonstrated an equally high level of participation and engagement, the winner will be selected from amongst those Participants via a random draw. The Promoter’s decision regarding the winner selection is final and binding.
7.3. Individual Subscription Prize (Voting)
The winner of the Subscription Prize will be chosen through a random lucky draw from the pool of eligible Participants who have submitted a valid and verified vote by the end of the Voting Competition Period.
7.4. Sound of fibertime™ Challenge Winner (individual)
The winner of the Scholarship Prize , linked exclusively to the Sound of fibertime™ Challenge, will be selected via a judging process. To be eligible for consideration and selection, Participants must meet both of the following conditions:
7.4.1. Have submitted a valid entry during the Sound of fibertime™ Challenge Period, and
7.4.2. meet all specific eligibility criteria required by Bridges for Music (as detailed in Clause 4.2.4).
The judging will be conducted by representatives from the Promoter and/or Bridges for Music, and the decision will be based strictly on the official Bridges for Music criteria.
7.5. Weekly and Surprise Prize Winners (Individuals):
Winners for weekly and surprise prizes will be selected periodically (i.e. weekly) throughout the Competition Period from valid entries received (i.e votes cast during the Voting Competition Period and challenge submissions received during the Challenge Competition Period) via random draw or,
7.6. Notification of Winners
7.6.1. Winners will be notified within a reasonable period after selection via WhatsApp, email, or social media direct message (DM) using the contact details provided during registration.
7.6.2. The Promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact the winners. If a winner cannot be contacted within 24 (twenty four) hours of the first notification attempt, or fails to respond to the notification to claim their prize within this timeframe, they will forfeit the prize.
7.7. Claiming the prize and Delivery:
7.7.1. A representative of the Promoter will contact confirmed winners directly to arrange the delivery or redemption of their prizes.
7.7.2. Vouchers will typically be delivered electronically (e.g., via WhatsApp or email). Physical prizes (if any) will be delivered to an agreed upon address within South Africa.
7.7.3. The Scholarship Prize will be facilitated in coordination with Bridges for Music, and specific terms related to the scholarship will apply.
7.8. Prize Forfeiture and Redraw:
7.8.1. Should a winner forfeit their prize for any reason (including non-compliance with these T&Cs or failure to claim within the specified timeframe), the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner by random draw or other means determined by the Promoter.
7.8.2. The Promoter may require winners to provide proof of identity (valid South African ID, passport, or driver’s license) and eligibility before awarding any prize.
7.8.3.The Promoter’s decision regarding the selection of winners and any other aspect of the Competition is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
8. Publicity and Data Privacy:
8.1. By entering the Competition, Participants consent to the Promoter processing their personal information (including name, contact details, Community voted for, submitted content) for the purposes of administering the Competition, selecting and contacting winners, delivering prizes, verifying entries, and monitoring voting trends.
8.2. Participants acknowledge that vote counts per Community may be publicly displayed on the Website leaderboard.
8.3. Weekly prize winners and the Grand Prize-winning Community will be publicly announced on the Promoter’s official social media pages and the Website.
8.4. Surprise prize winners may or may not be publicly announced.
8.5. Winners may be requested to participate in reasonable publicity events (including but not limited to photographs or interviews) for promotional purposes, without additional remuneration. Winners have the right to decline such participation.
8.6. By submitting content for the Sound of fibertime™ Challenge, Participants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display the submitted content (lyrics, voice notes, videos) on its social media channels and other promotional materials related to this Competition and future fibertime™ campaigns. Participants warrant they have the right to grant this license and that their content does not infringe third-party rights.
8.7. The Promoter will handle all personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), No. 4 of 2013. Participants can access the Promoter’s Privacy Policy by clicking here.
9. General Terms:
9.1. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and Participants and to disqualify any Participant who tampers with the entry process or submits an entry that is not in accordance with these T&Cs, or who engages in any fraudulent or unlawful conduct.
9.2. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties, lost or delayed entries, or any injury or damage to property arising from participation in the Competition or prize acceptance.
9.3. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, modify, cancel, or withdraw this Competition and/or these T&Cs at any time, without notice, if circumstances arise beyond its control. Any changes will be posted on the Website.
9.4. If any provision of these T&Cs is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
9.5. These T&Cs and the Competition are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these T&Cs or the Competition shall be resolved by way of negotiation and thereafter arbitration (if required), in the Republic of South Africa.
